The Pannon Community Hub, the first Community Space of the VEB2023 ECOC is 1 year old
The Pannon Community HUB, the community space of the Veszprém-Balaton 2023 European Capital of Culture programme and the University of Pannonia had a very successful first year of operation. Since its opening, the community venue has hosted 261 events with more than 5,000 visitors.
The core value of the Veszprém-Balaton 2023 European Capital of Culture programme is to build and strengthen communities in order to connect people - in a broader sense, social strata - and create new values together. This is the aim of the Public Space network, created with the support of the ECoC. The first community space of this network opened a year ago, on 30 September 2021, in Building ’E’of the University of Pannonia.
Pannon Community Hub has not only provided a space for the self-organised cultural and volunteer programmes of the university students, but also has helped the University of Pannonia to become more integrated into the city's bloodstream.
The Pannon Community Hub, consisting of two project rooms with a total capacity of 30 people, a larger community space with 40 seats and a terrace, has hosted 261 events over the past year, with more than 5,000 visitors.
The Pannon Community Hub is also home to the Generation Bridge project, the CoolLaunch youth organisation and the Secretariat of the UNeCC (University Network of the European Capitals of Culture), which unites the universities of the European Capitals of Culture. Among the numerous cultural programmes, workshops, performances and events, such as the Board Game Night, the music evenings of the VEB2023 ECoC Hangjáték Project, the „They live among us” series, but also university faculty events such as SIKKedd, the Faculty of Business and Economics' success series supporting start-ups, have quickly become popular.
Everyone is welcome to the events of Pannon Community Hub!
