What is CoolLaunch?
The Pannon Community Hub also hosts the CoolLaunch Youth Workshop, which is also open to high school and university students. CoolLaunch is a youth organisation based at the University of Pannonia, an idea workshop that supports young people in the field of cultural and social issues to realise their ideas.
CoolLaunch was established on 10 March 2020, after eight months of preparatory work, to bring young people together as a cohesive community to take part in the Veszprém-Balaton 2023 European Capital of Culture programme.
Although the organisation was founded at the Faculty of Business and Economics, their long-term goal is to involve the youth of the entire Bakony-Balaton region. CoolLaunch is a student and youth think tank where young people can find community and other resources to implement their ideas. There is one criterion when choosing projects: they must serve youth and culture. The organisation currently consists of six working groups, some of which carry out research and organisational activities, and two support groups that provide PR and management support to the other teams.
Anyone living in the VEB2023 ECoC project region can join the organisation, but of course anyone outside the region is not turned away, either. They have been active during the COVID-19 pandemic, organising a number of successful online programmes, volunteering and fundraising for charity.
